Exams, over. Now I'm back on my grind. I decided to play some 12/180s this morning while I was running a session of 16s and I ended up shipping second place in the first one I played. I would've have probably had a better shot at first but I thought I was in push/fold HU but we were actually about 20BB deep, so the hand I shoved I could have actually raised and got away from it. But no big deal, my FT game needs some work and it was fun to make one and have a good show out.
I was toying with the idea of playing more 180s but I'm not so sure. I think I could make good money at them but the swings would be large and they obviously take a bit longer to finish than 9 mans. It's all about volume either way. I've gotta get in serious grind mode for the rest of the month and see where I'm at with things a bit more. I think if I was going to play full time I'd probably start working in 180s more, just to have some variation.
My new PC came Tuesday. It's pretty sick, I dunno how I got along without a 24" monitor before. It's just so much freedom on the screen to do so much. The PC itself is a beast and surprisingly quiet as hell, I was pleasantly surprised. I'll most likely be buying an identical 24" if Dell has a sale on them in the near future. It's gonna be a pretty pimp setup. Vista also isn't bugging me as much as I thought it might.
I'm also doing my homework on a new HDTV and accompanying home theater system. I've got my eye on one right now and found it for a very sweet price today with efficient shipping costs to boot, but I think I'm gonna wait until after Christmas and see what Boxing Week has to offer. If I do pick one up I'm gonna grab an Xbox 360 Pro too, mostly so I can play GTA IV finally. I could get it for this new PC but I've been hearing that even the most top end PCs are having trouble running it on high settings, so I'd rather experience it in all its glory on an HDTV with its native console.
My current TV is starting to hum after running for a bit. We've only had it since the middle of '05. I'll probably try to move it for a couple hundred bucks if I get the new one. I'd keep it for another room but the buzzing sound is annoying as fuck.
I think I'm gonna have to start drinking coffee or something. I always feel wrecked and tired by early afternoon. It's the ridiculous sleep schedule I got myself on these last few weeks. Next week will probably help a bit, being home and stuff. I'm gonna miss grinding on my new setup though, it's gonna be a big difference grinding back on a 15" laptop going from a 24" monster. I'm also making a more permanent music folder on this computer, complete with album covers and so on, so I'll be missing that a bit. I've got most of it on my laptop too but not as organized as this is. I'm gonna wait until it gets a bit bigger and then make a backup of it and continue to back it up on DVDs every time I can come close to filling one. Actually I'm already over capacity for one DVD, so I should back that up soon.
This beast of a system has two 500GB HDDs so I'm not too concerned with running out of room but I'll be happy to have a good backup of my music for future systems. I'll probably upgrade my laptop at some point so it'll be good to have it all for easy transfer.
I'm gonna hit the shower and either play more or have a nap.
