Wow, today was just such a lazy day.
I got up at 8:30 am when I heard the phone ringing... and realized the phone hadn't been hooked up yet. So I grab it, but too late, and I turn it on and check, sure enough there's a dial tone. So I decided to try calling my number that was supposed to be hooked up, and it says not connected, plus this line wasn't showing caller ID, which I had on the plan. Then around 10am someone called and said there would be a delivery from Leons. I was like, "Uhh, who to?". And then explained this number didn't exist yesterday, at this location anyhow, and I didn't know that person. I should've asked her what number she was calling. Anyways I used the line all day, then I go out to help a friend set up her internet and come back, no line again but it says I have voicemail waiting. Of course I'll never be able to check the message. Wish I had've been here to get it. Strange though.
I still have to check to see if I've received any emails discussing classes tomorrow. Which means I have to go up to the university since I couldn't get my friend's internet to work. Living at a place where someone else's name is on the bills would piss me off; internet's not working/hooked up/password doesn't work, you can't call to get it fixed. Fuck that. Not looking forward to finding a signal on the campus at night, but I'm gonna have to.

From Beyond The Internet 1
So I'm moved into the new place, still not internet. I'm writing this with the intention of posting it from somewhere in the city when I find some free WiFi.
I wrote my placement test today and I'd be willing to guess it was the copy that had a large percentage of the answers as "None of the above". My math was working out, I'm confident of that. The sample placement tests I've been working on didn't have many questions with the option for none of the above, this test had almost every question with that as a possible selection, and many of the answers I came up with weren't matching so that would be the only alternative, obviously. Seemed like an awful high rate of them though. We'll see after they post the results, I'm not too concerned.
It's boring as fuck without internet, TV, phone. It's bananas. I tried getting ahold of an old friend but either his cell number is changed or his phone's off. I think he mentioned to me once his number was different but I don't know the new number.
I have nothing to do tonight, no classes tomorrow, so I'd like to have some drinks tonight or something. We'll see if I can find anyone I know kicking around. It's a pretty small town.
I'd like to have a connection to play poker on but I'm not sure I want to play over an open WiFi connection. I have to deposit if I want to play on Stars and I'm certainly not doing that over open WiFi... I could grind some stuff on Cake if I can find a connection, maybe. We'll see.
Everything has been put away besides my clothes at this point. It's a pretty sweet apartment, really open design unlike our last place. It's awesome, we decided to forego using our kitchen table so that allowed us to have a really large living area, it's pretty great. We're gonna raise the light that's intended to go over your kitchen table so people aren't smashing their head off of it when they get off the chair that's under it.
I'm still debating getting a cellphone or not. I feel like we're both going to need one because she'll be working long hours and I'll be around different places. She's got a prepaid one but those are such a waste of money if you're using it daily. It'd run us about $70 a month split if we got basic service with voicemail. Kinda sucks but we'll probably end up doing it when she starts work. I'm probably gonna get an iPhone for myself, I'm kinda hoping Rogers will come out with a 2 year term or something before I get one; really not interested in being locked into a cellphone contract for 3 years but I do want an iPhone.
I'm just charging my laptop battery now so I can go find some WiFi somewhere. Friday can't come soon enough, so I don't have to leave the place just to get email.
Last night I had to go meet my cousin to get the two sample placement tests she had that they didn't post online so I took a cab. Man, they've jacked the prices up (unsurprisingly) since I last lived here. Sucks because it was so cheap to go places before but I can't see myself using them much now.
This fucking couch is killing my back. Decent looking couch but it doesn't provide any lumber support.
Alright, I'm gonna read for a bit while this finishes charging. Ciao.
